Your biggest disappointment?
I haven’t had any. You know, you lose your privacy, you don’t spend as much time with your family as you want. I think there was one day when I woke up, it had been a rough week, and it dawned on me that I couldn’t come back to being “Not Famous”. You’re a celebrity, You can’t go back. Even when the hits stop, and I get married, people will always say ” Oh that was Britney, when she was 18 she was famous”. But I love my life, I hate it when celebrities moan about their lives. It’s hard, but I wouldn’t change it for anything. [x]
Is it true that when you were recording “Where Are You Now” you kept bursting into tears?
I’d just come out of a relationship so I was relating to it big time. I had to force myself not to think too much about the words.
The song you wrote, “Dear Diary” is about a girl who’s interested in a guy. How autobiographical was that?
Not at all, I can’t relate to the girl in that song.
What’s your favorite track on the album?
"The Last To Know", it’s such a delicate ballad. [x]
Do you suss out guys when you’re singing onstage?
Oh Yeah! There’s a part of the show when I pick a guy in the audience and sing to him. So that always gives you a good excuse. One time this guy was so cute. He looked real confident, which is another quality I like in a guy. I got so nervous singing to him. I’m thinking, Britney, don’t be a retard! [x]
What’s been the most embarrassing moment onstage?
There are so many! I had a big fight suit on which the dancers were supposed to rip off me, but they couldn’t, I was stuck in there. They were pulling and pushing, and I fell over! One time, towards the end of the show, I was doing “Oops…I Did It Again”, and this guy jumped onstage, took his shirt off and ran towards me. I’m like, Lawdy! I was so scared, security had to take him off. [x]

Can you remember the first time you met your fans?
I totally remember it, I was in New York and these two girls came up and they were, like, “You’re Britney Spears aren’t you?” I was, like, “Oh my God, this is so cool! People recognise me!” and I signed my first ever autograph, then as well. I was thinking, “OK, this is cool, I can do this…” [x]
Does it upset you when fans make wrong assumptions about you?
Yeah, there was one time when There were loads of fans in an airport all screaming at me to sign autographs. I was just trying to sort something out and I was like, “Can you wait a second?” and they started calling me names ‘cos I didn’t go out straight away. I was like, “Who are you to judge me? You don’t even know me!” Sometimes I can be really, really sensitive, but I’m getting used to it. Now I just think, “Hey, not everyone’s gonna like you, Britney”. [x]
Have you ever forgotten the words to one of your songs on stage?
There was one time when I was on the Rosie O’Donnell Show and they were playing a different mix of Sometimes and I came on stage at the wrong time - that was kinda embarrassing. [x]
LB: What was your biggest fashion mistake?
BS: Ten years ago at the Billboard awards, I wore this orange hat and orange bra and orange booty pants and purple fishnets. Oh, and I had an orange jacket on.
LB: Was it Halloween?
BS [laughs]: No, it wasn’t Halloween. I actually thought I looked hot at the time. But, um, I definitely stood out. I thought it was just a marvelous idea to wear this purple and orange outfit; it was like high school colors. I was a cheerleader for a school I didn’t know. People were talking about it, but not in a good way. [x]
